CHOCOLATE ORANGE POPCORN
100g (½ cup) popcorn kernels
4 teaspoon 100% cocoa powder
25g (1.4 oz) butter or coconut oil
3-4 drops of orange oil (If you don't have orange oil then use 2 tsp of freshly squeezed orange).
Preheat fan oven to 125°C (gas mark 1/ 275°F).
Zest two oranges. Place the zest on the baking tray and place in the oven for 20 mintues.
To make the Glaze:
Melt 25g (1.4 oz) of butter in a saucepan. Take the saucepan off the heat and add the cocoa powder, orange oil or orange juice and Modern Nature Liquid Stevia Drops Sweetener - Chocolate and mix into a smooth paste.
Now make the pop corn.
If using a pop corn machine: pop the popcorn kernels according to the machine instructions. Pop 100g (½ cup) of plain popcorn kernels.
If using a microwave: pour 100g (½ cup) popcorn kernels into a large glass bowl, cover with a vented lid. Microwave on high for 3-4 minutes. When there is a 2 second gap between each pop, the popcorn is done.
Pour the glaze over the popcorn and mix through. You may want to use your hands to properly coat the popcorn.Now place the coated popcorn onto the baking try and place into the oven.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, this is important to give the popcorn that extra crunch. To serve mix the dried orange zest with the baked popcorn.
